Turbine-based Ventilator design and prototype fabrication which has been registered as open-source hardware in Open Source Hardware Association (OSHWA) for the first time from Bangladesh.

Responsible for planning, design & fabrication of a Cancer Detection Device using Nonlinear Optics, the first of its kind, which has been applied for a patent in Bangladesh. This HEQEP project was funded by the World Bank under the governance of UGC. BD Patent Application No. P/BD/2018/000188

(January 2012 - December 2019) 

Responsible for planning, design & fabrication of lab automation systems and sample scanning devices using Nonlinear Optics. This HEQEP project was funded by the World Bank under the governance of UGC. The Department of Physics, SUST was awarded two projects for a total period of 5 years.

Recognition

OSHWA Certification: “Rapidly developable low cost and power-efficient portable turbine-based emergency ventilator” project has been officially certified as open-source hardware by the “Open Source Hardware Association” (OSHWA). This is the first piece of certified hardware from Bangladesh. OSHWA certification can be found here.

UN SDGs: The open access article “Cost-effective and power-efficient portable turbine-based emergency ventilator” was published with Elsevier. Elsevier recognizes this article is linked to the UN SDGs, helping to tackle some of the world’s greatest challanges. SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
